FAQ
Q1 Inaccurate Location / GPS Drift
The current positioning system of the Magi Watch may be affected by several factors, including local network density, signal strength, and the number of visible GPS satellites.
As a result, you may occasionally notice location inaccuracies or GPS drifting, especially indoors, in areas with tall buildings, or while the watch is in motion.
After reviewing the issue you reported, we've further analyzed the system's detection and filtering logic.
We did identify that some devices are more likely to experience unstable positioning when connecting to mobile hotspots or when affected by interference from nearby signals.
We've already begun making improvements, and a system update is scheduled to be completed by the morning of July 14 (Monday).
This update should significantly improve location accuracy.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We sincerely appreciate your help in making our product better.

Q2. Battery Drains Too Quickly
After analysis, we've found that most power consumption issues are related to the following factors: Set Up the Watch in a Stable Wi-Fi Environment We recommend completing basic setup tasks — such as adding family contacts, setting up safe zones, and alarms — while connected to a stable Wi-Fi network at home, with the device nearby.
This helps avoid additional battery usage that may occur if these settings are applied while the watch is outdoors or on an unstable network.
Adjust Location Update Frequency Based on Actual Needs By default, the watch updates its location once every hour.
Frequent manual location refreshes within a short period can cause the system to repeatedly activate GPS, which drains the battery quickly.
We recommend adjusting the "Care Time" location update interval in the app to better suit your needs (options include 1 hour, 30 mins, 10 mins, 5 mins, or 1 min).
Choosing a more frequent automatic update is often more battery-efficient than repeated manual refreshes.
Ensure Good Signal to Avoid Constant Network Searching If the watch is in an area with weak, unstable, or no signal, it will constantly search for a network, which increases power consumption.
Connecting to a stable Wi-Fi network in low-signal areas can help reduce background scanning and extend battery life.
We are continuously working to optimize power management and improve overall performance.

Q3. Location Not Updating in Real-Time (e.g., child has already left but location still shows as home)
By default, the Magi Watch updates its location once every hour.
If no manual location update is triggered during this interval, the app may display an outdated location, such as still showing "home" even though your child has already left.
If you'd like to receive more frequent updates, we recommend the following three options: 1.
Adjust the automatic update frequency In the "Care Time" settings within the MagiMagi app, you can change the location update frequency to every 30 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, or 1 minute for more timely updates.
2.
Enable "Smart Tracking" mode Magi Watch includes a smart tracking system that can be enabled under the "Care Time" settings.
In this mode, the watch will automatically trigger a location update when it detects that the child has moved into a different area (based on changes in cell tower signals, with an estimated movement of over 300 meters).
This feature is especially helpful during activities like commuting to school.
When the watch remains in the same area for a long time, location updates will pause to save battery, offering a balance between accuracy and power efficiency.
3.
Use manual location refresh You can always tap "Manual Location" in the app to get the current position instantly.
However, please note that frequent manual refreshing may increase battery drain, so we recommend using it alongside a reasonable automatic update interval.
If you've already set a shorter update interval but still experience significant delays, it may be due to local signal quality or GPS interference in the environment (e.
g.
, indoors or in densely built-up areas).
We are continuously working to optimize our location algorithms to improve both accuracy and stability.

It is possible, but not recommended, to operate the watch without a SIM card.
During initial setup, the watch can be activated and bound to the parental app "MagiMagi" via Wi-Fi without inserting a SIM card. However, relying solely on Wi-Fi comes with two primary limitations:
· Limited Features: Key functions like Voice Calls and Care Listening are disabled.
· Offline Status: Outside of Wi-Fi range, the watch without SIM cannot use core features like Location, SOS, Messaging, and To-do List...
For full functionality, we strongly recommend installing a SIM card and completing the binding process in the MagiMagi app.
Q3. Why is the SIM card not recognized? How can I fix it?
If the device cannot recognize the SIM card, it is usually due to one of the following reasons:
· Poor Contact: SIM card not fully inserted, incorrect orientation, or dust/debris in the slot.
· SIM Card Damage: Physical damage such as bends or scratches.
· Invalid SIM Status: The card is not activated, or the service has been suspended.
Troubleshooting Steps:
· Power off the device, remove and reinsert the SIM card correctly, then power it on.
· Test the SIM card in another phone to check if it works.
· Insert a known-working SIM card into the device to confirm if the problem is with the device or the original SIM card.
· Restart the device and check if the signal and SIM card status are normal in the settings.
If the issue persists, please contact your point of purchase or Magi Official Support for further assistance.
Q4. Why is there no Internet after inserting SIM card? How can I fix it?
Possible reasons why the watch has no internet connection include:
· System Delay: The watch system did not read the SIM card immediately.
· Band Incompatibility: The watch may not support your carrier's network frequency bands.
· SIM Status Issue: The data service is not activated, or the account has insufficient credit.
· Data-Only SIM: Using a data-only or IoT card may restrict features like Voice Calls and Care Listening.
Suggested Solutions:
· Restart the watch after inserting the SIM card.

Q5. How much data does the Magi Watch typically use?
In general, the Magi Watch uses about 500-800MB of data per month.
This includes things like sharing Location updates, sending messages, making Video Calls, counting steps, and communicating with the app (like enabling Class Mode, shutting down or restarting the watch, etc.).
Please note: video calls use more data. So we recommend choosing a data plan that fits your child's usage habits.
Q6. Is eSIM supported?
Currently, Magi Watch only supports a physical nano-SIM card and does not support eSIM or dual-SIM functionality.
Location & Tracking
Q1. Why can't I locate the Magi Watch? How can I fix it?
The inability to locate the watch may be due to the following reasons:
· Low battery: The watch has run out of power.
· Poor signal environment: The watch is indoors or in an area with weak GPS signal, making accurate positioning difficult.
· SIM card data issue: The SIM card has no active internet service. Please confirm with your carrier first.
Troubleshooting steps (ensure the watch is charged and in an area with stable 4G network):
· Check whether the SIM card can access the internet normally.
· Press the SOS button on the watch, then check the parent app to see if the corresponding alert is received.
· Manually refresh the location in the parent app.
· Restart the watch.
Q2. Why is the location not updated in real time?
The watch is set by default to update its location automatically every hour. If no manual location refresh is performed within this interval, the displayed location may not reflect the current actual position (e.g., the watch shows the child is still at home when they have already left).
To receive more timely location updates, you can try the following:
· Adjust the Auto-Update Frequency: In the MagiMagi app's Care Time settings, you can set how often the location updates—options include every 1, 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes.
· Manual Location Refresh: You can manually refresh the watch's location at any time in MagiMagi app.
⚠️Note: Frequent manual updates will drain the battery faster. We recommend adjusting settings according to your actual needs for the best balance.
If location delays persist even with short update intervals, this may be due to weak network signals or GPS interference in the area. We are continuously improving our location algorithm to enhance accuracy and stability.
Q3. Why is the Location inaccurate or incorrect?
The accuracy of the location depends on the positioning method (GPS, Wi-Fi, or Cellular Network).
· GPS is most accurate in open outdoor areas but may be unavailable indoors or in places like basements, tunnels, or dense urban areas. In these cases, the system switches to less precise Wi-Fi or cellular positioning, which can have an error range from tens to hundreds of meters. This is normal.
· Location Drift (e.g., showing in the sea or far from the actual area) can occur when GPS signals are temporarily lost or network connectivity is unstable. The location should automatically correct itself shortly. If this happens frequently, please check your local network signal and ensure the watch's software is updated to the latest version.
Q4. Can the watch be located after it is powered off?
No. When the watch is powered off or the battery is fully drained, it cannot transmit its location. The MagiMagi app will display the last known location and the time it was updated.
To ensure you can always track the location, please keep the watch sufficiently charged and avoid leaving it powered off for extended periods.
Battery & Charging
Q1. How do I charge the Magi Watch?
Please use the magnetic charging cable included in the box and connect it to a standard 5V1A (1000mA) charger.
Do not use a fast charger to avoid unstable charging or battery damage.
It takes approximately 1.2 hours to fully charge the battery from 0% to 100%.
Q2. How long does the battery last after a full charge?
On a full charge, the watch provides approximately 48 hours of standby time (powered on but unbound or not tracking).
With location updates set to refresh every hour, battery life is about 30 hours.
Actual battery life varies based on usage and signal strength. Frequent manual location updates, voice messages, or video calls will drain the battery faster. We recommend charging the watch every night.
Q3. Why does the battery drain quickly? How to fix it?
Rapid battery drain may result from frequent location updates, unstable signals, or background activities. To extend battery life:
· Optimize location updates:
Adjust the positioning frequency in the app (e.g., reduce update intervals) and use automatic updates instead of frequent manual refreshes.
· Maintain stable connectivity:
Configure settings in a stable Wi-Fi or network environment to avoid excessive power consumption from constant network searching.
· Monitor signal strength:
Ensure the watch remains in areas with strong network coverage to prevent repeated signal scanning.
Q4. What should I do if the watch is lost to protect my child's information?
If the watch is confirmed lost: Open the MagiMagi app and go to the QR code section.
Tap "Unbind" to immediately erase all data from the watch.
Also contact your SIM card provider to disable the old card and request a replacement.
Note: Once unbound, the watch will reset to factory settings and can be bound by any new user.
